Linda Best is President and CEO of the Contra Costa Council, an organization of business, education, public and non-profit leaders which studies and advocates on public policy issues important to economic vitality and quality of life. She is also the Executive Director of the Contra Costa Economic Partnership, a public/private, non-profit organization, whose mission is economic vitality for Contra Costa County. The Partnership also publishes biannually the Contra Costa Performance Index which tracks demographic and economic trends in the County. She also serves on the boards of OPTIC (Opportunities for Technology Information Careers) and the West County Business Development Center. She is a past member and Chair of the John Muir Health Board of Directors and a past member of the Workforce Development Board of Contra Costa County. She received her BA and MA degrees from Stanford University. Awards received: Contra Costa Child Care Council Kiddie Award, Valley Chamber of Commerce Woman of the Year; the Contra Costa Times Woman of Achievement Award for Business and Technology; and the East Bay Business Times Woman of Distinction Award.
